Some love stories unfold slowly. Others arrive with a burst of laughter, a frisbee in hand, and a mountain backdrop that feels like it was waiting just for them.

Nancy + Adam’s elopement in Colorado was a two-day celebration of connection, intention, and joy. We flew out to photograph their journey, and from the very first hug to the final dance under string lights, it was clear: this wasn’t just a wedding. It was a homecoming. We talked with Nancy quite often during the planning process and one of our favorite statements from her was,

“I want to love all of me at every stage in life. I can’t ‘re-do’ these pictures ever again, and we’re going to celebrate it.”

THIS, folks. THIS RIGHT HERE is one of the billion reasons why we continue to do what we do.

Day One: Courthouse Vows + Family Frisbee

They began quietly—with a courthouse ceremony in Golden, Colorado, surrounded by their parents, Nancy’s brother, niece, and nephew. It was intimate and heartfelt, and marked the very first time both families met. There was laughter, a few happy tears, and a sense of something sacred unfolding in real time.

After the ceremony, they tossed a frisbee with their families—Adam’s disc golf heart fully on display—and we captured the kind of joy that only comes when everyone feels seen and included. It was casual, sweet, and exactly what they needed before the big day ahead.

Day Two: Mountain Magic at The View at Madge Gulch

The next day, they gathered again—this time on a cliffside with the Rockies stretching wide behind them. The View at Madge Gulch was the perfect setting: warm, welcoming, and styled to perfection by Kristin Hibler, the venue owner and interior designer extraordinaire. She wore every hat—planner, coordinator, decorator, baker—and made the entire experience feel effortless and beautiful. The wedding cake and cupcakes (she made, herself!) were divine, and the venue looked like it belonged in a design magazine (don't even get us started on the inside of her home... it was absolutely STUNNING!).

Nancy and Adam chose not to do a first look. They wanted to save that moment—let it build, let it breathe. So when the ceremony began, we had Adam turn his back so he couldn't peek. And at just the right moment, we gave him the signal. He turned around to see Nancy standing there with her father, framed by the blue skies, puffy clouds, and the people they love most. He definitely got choked up. We all did! It was so beautiful and was the exact kind of moment that stays with you long after the wedding day is over.

Their ceremony was simple and stunning. Nancy + Adam stayed grounded in what mattered most throughout the day: their vows, their people, and the view that held it all.

Afterward, there were tacos and pupusas on the buffet, heartfelt toasts, dancing, and that unmistakable tenderness every time they looked at each other—even from across the room. Their vows became more than words; they became a memory etched into the mountains themselves—a reminder that love doesn’t just happen in one moment, but in all the little ones that follow.

Before the sun dipped behind the hills, we snuck away to Sunset Rock—Kristin’s favorite spot—for portraits that felt like pure poetry. Just the two of them, wrapped in golden light and the quiet joy of knowing they’d done it their way.

What We’ll Remember

We’ll remember the way Nancy planned every detail with care, even while juggling work, travel, and family logistics. We’ll remember Adam’s quiet joy and the way he lit up when he saw Nancy at the end of the aisle. We’ll remember the toasts, the friend group photos (to include an awesome prom pose), Nancy's mom running around trying to get her own photos of all the magic (and even when her camera got taken away by her son, she pulled another one out and kept on going! Gotta love her dedication!), the friends all together to celebrate the awesomeness that IS Nancy + Adam, and the way everyone leaned into the celebration with full hearts.

We’ll remember how important those family photos were—parents from opposite coasts, a brother who hadn’t seen them in years, grandparents meeting their grandkids for the first time. We’ll remember Nancy’s confidence, her humor, her love for Adam and their people. We'll also remember the pupusas, because... who doesn't love pupusas? And... as if all of that wasn't enough... we’ll remember her post-wedding email—the kind that makes you tear up and laugh out loud in the same breath.
